<p>An adhesive dressing for a difficult to treat region of the body comprising: a substantially liquid-impermeable backing sheet; a layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive coated on the backing sheet; and an absorbent island adhered to the backing sheet on the same side as the adhesive layer, wherein the island has a smaller area than the backing sheet such that an adhesive-coated margin of the backing sheet extends around the island, and wherein the island is offset from the center of the backing sheet to provide a wide margin region that can be partially removed to alter the shape of the dressing and thereby improve the conformity of the dressing to a region of the body. The invention is especially applicable to sacral dressings.</p> |
