A sliding floor for the loading and unloading of loads especially on the loading surface of a semi-trailer in the longitudinal direction of the semi-trailer, comprises several drive cylinders (3) located in stationary fashion on a transverse carrier (2), each with piston rods movable relative to it that can travel in and out in the longitudinal direction and several transverse beams (5) connected with the piston rods on each of which a set of floor elements is attached. The drive cylinders are attached above on the transverse carrier. Fastening devices are provided with which the transverse beams can be arranged at the most minimal vertical spacing possible to the piston rod. The piston rods are freely supporting so that no additional transverse carrier is needed for the support of the piston rods.
