<p>A polypeptide having a sphingolipid ceramide deacylase activity; a nucleic acid encoding this polypeptide; a recombinant DNA containing this nucleic acid; a cell transfer carrier carrying the nucleic acid or the recombinant DNA; a transformant carrying the nucleic acid or the recombinant DNA; a process for producing the above polypeptide; an oligonucleotide probe or primer to the above nucleic acid; a method and a kit for detecting the above nucleic acid by using the above probe or primer; an antibody or its fragment against the above polypeptide; and a method and a kit for detecting the above polypeptide by using the antibody or its fragment.
