Halogen lamp for infra-red radiation of wide materials, includes heat conducting contacts at ends to produce steep temperature gradient in glass envelope

A tubular halogen lamp (11) for radiating in the wavelengths 0.8 to 1.5 mu m has contacts (13) at the ends to conduct heat to the reflector (12), which carries channels with coolant (17,18). A steep temperature gradient is produced between the middle and the ends of the glass envelope (14), e.g. from 600 [deg]C to below 200 [deg]C. The ends of the envelope (14) can be bent towards the reflector (12).
