<p>The present invention provides a composition for treating malaria, comprising dihydroartemisinin, piperaquine and trimethoprim as well as their analogs and salts. Said compositions exhibit therapeutic action rapidly with high efficiency and low toxicity in animal models and clinical tests. The period of treatment when administrating the composition above is much shorter than that when using other antimalarials. The composition according to the invention contains dihydroartemisinin and piperaquine as the essential principles which are demonstrated to be synergetic.</p> |
