The tool (1) uses esp. a hammer to set esp. nails. It has a guide element (4) with channel (6), defined by two openings (7,8) and containing a pressure transmission element (9). A first part (9a) of the element projects from a first channel opening to be moved into contact with the hammer (3). A element second part (12) is formed to transmit the pressure impulse of the hammer to a nail (2), which is inserted into the guide element through the second opening. Guide element and/or second element part are magnetic.
