PURPOSE: A system and a method for a local area routing service using information on a telephone number and a map are provided to connect a call of a user to an optimum subscriber among subscribers subscribed to a representative number service, so that the call can be connected to only one subscriber subscribed to the representative number service in one dialing code. CONSTITUTION: A user terminal(100) attempts call connection to a switching network(110) with a local area routing service(11). The switching network(110) extracts an originating number of the user terminal(100), for delivery to a telephone number information collecting server(120)(12). The telephone number information collecting server(120) extracts address information of the user terminal(100) corresponding to the delivered originating number from a telephone number information database, for delivery to a map information collection server(130)(13). The map information collecting server(130) extracts location information of the user terminal(100) from a map information database using the delivered address information, to map with location information of a subscriber and deliver a mapping result to a subscriber number extracting server(140)(14). The subscriber number extracting server(140) extracts a subscriber number that is effectively connectable to the user terminal(100) using the mapped location information, to deliver the extracted subscriber number to the switching network(110) together with the originating number(15). And the switching network(110) connects a call using the delivered originating number(user terminal number) and an incoming number(subscriber terminal number)(11,16).
