AMORPHOUS ALLOY AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME

A method for preparing an amorphous alloy composite material containing ZrC particles dispersed therein which comprises adding carbon particles and Zr pure metal or a Zr alloy to a master alloy, dissolving them at a temperature higher than the melting point of Zr pure metal or the Zr alloy + 100 DEG K, thereby reacting Zr with C to form ZrC particles and giving the above master alloy capable of forming glass having ZrC particles uniformly dispersed therein. Amorphous alloy composite materials containing various amounts of ZrC particles dispersed therein and having desired shapes can be prepared. The method can be used for preparing, at a low cost, an amorphous alloy composite material containing ZrC particles dispersed therein which has excellent mechanical strength.
