<p>Conventionally, a television receiver, a video cassette recorder, a settop box, and so forth cannot receive a signal for controlling the receiver itself and publicity or advertisement of a company separately from the program to be viewed. According to the invention, a receiver has two or more receiving units (101, 102). The channel of a first receiving unit can be changed freely by the viewer, whereas the channel of a second receiving unit cannot be changed by the viewer in principal and can be controlled by the transmission side that transmits data such as a program. The second receiving unit can automatically store therein the received data, and therefore data on the controls of the receiver itself and company advertisement are stored and used appropriately.</p> |
