PURPOSE: A space voltage vector pulse width modulation method for a harmonic reduction in a multi-level system is provided to reduce an output harmonic wave by shifting a phase voltage without changing a voltage between lines. CONSTITUTION: In case that an existing space voltage vector pulse width modulation method is expanded to a multi-level, in order to change a phase voltage for minimizing a harmonic wave, a phase greater than Vdc/2 is shifted to Vdc/2(b). In order to rearrange the shifted respective phase voltage for minimizing the harmonic wave(c), the phase is equally shifted again. The phase shifted to Vdc/2 is moved to Vdc/2 again(d). Thus, an output harmonic wave is reduced by shifting a phase voltage without changing a voltage between lines.
