In a system wherein a plurality of paper feeding devices (121,131) can be serially connected to a recording device body (101), which is the electrically most upstream device, an electrically most downstream paper feeding device (303) controls only itself, the next paper feeding device (302) upstream controls itself and the paper feeding device (303) downstream, and a further paper feeding device (301) upstream controls itself and the next paper feeding device (302) downstream. The recording device body (101) controls only one closest downstream paper feeding device (A) even if there are many paper feeding devices connected in series. Every paper feeding device (A,B) controls only itself and the one closest downstream paper feeding device (B,C) even if a plurality of paper feeding devices are connected downstream thereof.
