PURPOSE: A mobile phone system servicing multiple phone numbers and a method for controlling the same are provided to enable a user to get a service of multiple phone numbers and edit a mode receiving the multiple phone numbers at the user's intention. And the mobile phone system and the method are provided to make the user easily receive, delete or modify the assigned additional phone numbers, so that the user can get calls selectively and recognize a phone number receiving a call. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer decides whether a user selects the management of multiple phone numbers(S31). If so, the microcomputer decides whether an incoming mode is selected(S32). If so, the microcomputer receives a phone number for which incoming mode setup is requested among the multiple phone numbers(S33), and decides which type of the incoming mode is selected by the user(S34). If the user selects a bell sound, the microcomputer selects a desired bell sound mode as the incoming mode and stores the selected mode(S35). If the user selects vibration, the microcomputer selects a vibration mode as the incoming mode and stores the selected mode(S36). If the user selects a lamp mode emitting light mutely, the microcomputer selects a mute mode as the incoming mode and stores the selected mode(S37). If the user selects an editing mode, the microcomputer sets the incoming mode by mixing various modes such as bell after vibration, vibration after bell, bell after mute, and stores the selected editing mode in an internal memory(S38).
