PURPOSE: A method for controlling the calcining rate of calcium oxide in different-sized rotary kilns is provided, to obtain the optimum calcining rate constantly by changing the rotation velocity according to the daily production yield and the size of a calcining kiln. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of preheating limestone, and calcining the preheated limestone in a rotary kiln by the combustion of coke oven gas to obtain calcium oxide, wherein the rotation velocity(N) of the calcining kiln according to the daily production yield to different-sized rotary kilns is calculated by N = 0.22423 x P/(SD¬3) when the charging rate of the calcining kiln is 4.1%. N is a rotation velocity(rpm), P is a daily production yield (ton/day), S is a slope angle(degree), and D is an effective inner diameter(m). The coefficients and constant of Y = aF¬2 + bF + c (wherein Y is a calcining rate, and F is a charging rate) are obtained by using the real data of different-sized kilns, and the calcining rate according to the use of calcium oxide is calculated by changing the charging rate.
