A module (2) has both user input means (8, 9,10) and a memory storing a program. Consequently, a program-controlled apparatus (1), with which the module is in communication (e.g. by plugging in), can be provided with input means adapted to the program being run. An alternative module may have a keyboard. Alternatively, two modules may act as handles on opposite edges of the apparatus. The invention is applicable to portable video games, personal digital organisers or smartphones. |
