PURPOSE: A block for a retaining wall is provided to secure the stability of a retaining wall by preventing a crack of blocks and to improve efficiency on building blocks on a construction work of a retaining wall. CONSTITUTION: The block for a retaining wall(100) comprises a front face(101) for forming various patterns, side faces(102)(103) having an angle of inclination in a trapezoidal shape toward rearward, a rear face(106) connected to the side faces toward the rear and provided projections(104)(105), through holes(107) bored downward, a connector(110) for connecting upper blocks to a plane between the through holes(107) and the front face(101), a guide groove(111) formed downward to the appointed depth from one side of the through holes(107) of the connector(110), setting holes(112) formed frontward from the guide groove(111) and bored to the lower side to locate each block to the upper story and build alternately, and a fixed groove(113) formed to the appointed depth from the upper side to guide a h-shaped clip(120) for fixing blocks by taking the position of blocks built between setting holes(112) from the guide groove(111).
