PURPOSE: A foldable apparatus, capable of manually or automatically opening a folder, is provided to assemble a folder at a base with a hinge, i.e. of a flip type or a folder type cellular phone so that it can make a structure small sized or compact. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a motor(10), a speed reducing gear unit(80), the first cam(90), the second cam(100), a spring(120), and a housing(110). The motor(10) rotates clockwise or counterclockwise by an electric power. The speed reducing gear unit(80), interlocked with a shaft of the motor for a transmission of a rotational force, outputs a torque increased according to decrease of a rotational speed of the motor(10). The first cam(90), interlocked with a shaft of the speed reducing gear unit(80) for a transmission of a rotational force, includes a pair of female shaped portion and male shaped portion. The second cam(100) is assembled with the first cam(90) by a pair of female shaped portion and male shaped portion engaged with the male shaped portion and female shaped portion, respectively. The spring(120), installed between the motor(10) and the first cam(90), pushes the first cam(90) toward the second cam(100). The housing(110) offers a cylindrical space, and accommodates the second cam(100), the first cam(90), the speed reducing gear unit(80), the spring(120), and the motor(10) within the cylindrical space. The shaft of the second cam(100) is exposed from the cylindrical space. The motor(10) is directly or indirectly fixed to the housing(110).
