HYBRID ARC EXTINGUISHING APPARATUS FOR CIRCUIT BREAKER

PURPOSE: A hybrid arc extinguishing apparatus for a circuit breaker is provided to enhance the arc-extinguishing property and easily increase the conducting capacity by rapidly extinguishing arc, as well as to decrease the overall size by excluding a contact pressure spring. CONSTITUTION: First/second shells(10,20) are coupled to oppose each other to form a space(S) for receiving insulating medium. A fixed electrode(51) is disposed so that its one end can be positioned within the first shell(10) and its other end can be exposed from the first shell(10). A movable electrode(31) is disposed so that its one end can be positioned within the second shell(20) and its other end can be exposed from the second shell(20). In addition, the movable electrode(31) is slidably mounted on the second shell(20) so that it can be contacted/separated to/from the fixed electrode(51).
