PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating material for a wall surface having excellent workability and to provide a decorating method of a wall surface being rich in a fine sight which are able to carry out a smoothing treatment and a surface finish of a block wall surface having a joint portion and a rugged wall surface. SOLUTION: The coating material for the wall surface is prepared by compounding a synthetic resin emulsion as a binder, an inorganic filler having a particle diameter of <=5 mm, a content of the particle having the particle diameter of 1-5 mm being 20-70%, and a content of the particle having the particle diameter of <=0.5 mm being 10-50%, a carbon fiber, and a synthetic fiber, and they are kneaded with, and the resulting product is coated on the block wall surface having the joint portion and the rugged wall surface by using a trowel, a spatula, a roller, or the like.
