The invention relates to a method for impregnating a lateral edge of a workpiece produced from wood-fibre material, in particular, a floor panel. The aim of the invention is to prevent the problem of moisture penetration of the floor panel in the form of atmospheric humidity and water. To achieve this, an impregnating agent that can be cured by ionising radiation and/or UV radiation is applied to at least one part of the lateral edge of the workpiece and the impregnating agent is at least partially wetted and cured by ionising radiation and/or UV radiation. The invention also relates to a workpiece produced using the aforementioned method, in particular, a floor panel. |
