PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst that is freed from the drawback that the constituent noble metal is coated with the NOx sorbent and can therefore exhibit improved cleaning activity. SOLUTION: This method comprises infiltrating an NOx sorbent into a support and infiltrating a noble metal into the support by using a solution of the noble metal in a solvent in which the infiltrated NOx sorbent is insoluble. According to this method, the noble metal is not coated with the sorbent because the infiltration of the noble metal into the substrate follows that of the NOx sorbent, and the infiltrates do not fluctuate in distribution because the infiltrated NOx sorbent is not eluted into the solvent. |
