PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate some problems found in the prior art money holding envelope in which a paper money enclosed in the envelope cannot be confirmed or checked from outside the envelope with the result of producing a possibility that the envelope is delivered without money in it in erroneous manner or it requires opening of the envelope for confirming whether or not money is enclosed in it. SOLUTION: Either both a front surface sheet 2 and a rear surface sheet 3 or one of them constituting an envelope main body 1 made of opaque paper is formed with a punched through-hole 4 or is provided with an opening or closing lid 8. A paper money 7 put into the envelope main body 1 can be confirmed by a visual inspection through the through-hole 4 or an opening or closing window 11 from either both the front surface side and the rear surface side or one of them.
