PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire tread rubber composition capable of securing abrasion resistance while keeping operational performance on the ice in a high level, when the rubber composition is used for tread parts of a pneumatic tire. SOLUTION: This tire tread rubber composition contains 15-40 pts.wt. of carbon black and 20-60 pts.wt. of precipitated silica based on 100 pts.wt. of a diene-based rubber containing 40-70 pts.wt. of a NR(natural rubber), wherein the carbon black has a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area of 100-165 m2/g and a DBP(dibutyl phthalate) absorption of 90-130 ml/100 g, the precipitated silica has a BET(Brunauer-Emmett-Teller) specific surface area of 150-200 m2/g, the total amount of the carbon black and the precipitated silica is 40-90 pts.wt., and a weight ratio of the carbon black to the precipitated silica is 0.25-1.0.
