PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a coolant composition and to provide a method for reducing corrosion relating to a coolant composition. SOLUTION: The anti-freeze composition can be added to water or other appropriate coolants in a cooling apparatus in order to lower the freezing point of the coolant and suppress the corrosion of a metal component related to the cooling apparatus. This anti-freeze composition is not limited to, but particularly suitable for the case when hard water is used. The anti-freeze composition comprises an organic acid component comprising adipic acid, and at least one among benzoic acid, one or more 9-12C dicarboxylic acids and salts of these acids. The anti-freeze composition also contains other anticorrosive additives and various buffering agents. |
