摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst that maintains high yield in producing hydrogen cyanide by ammoxidation of methanol. SOLUTION: A metal oxide that contains iron, antimony, molybdenum, bismuth, potassium, element F, element G, element H and silica as its essential components in a specific ratio and also iron antimonate of crystal structure, is used as the catalyst for producing hydrogen cyanide by ammoxidation of methanol. The element F is at least one element selected from the group consisting of magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium, manganese, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc and cadmium. The element G is at least one element selected from the group consisting of chromium, aluminium, gallium and indium. The element H is at least one element selected from the group consisting of yttrium, lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium and samarium.
