PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catering vehicle to be automatically stopped when an obstacle collides with any portion of a bumper ranging over the whole periphery of the catering vehicle, having the bumper improving in shock absorbing function during collision. SOLUTION: The catering vehicle having a storage for foods to be served, mounted on a truck 2 driven by a motor, comprises a bumper 11 encircling the truck 2 over its whole periphery, mounted on the truck 2 via an elastic joint 4 movably in a horizontal plane, a sensor 5 arranged on the truck 2 for detecting the movement of the bumper 11, when moved from a predetermined position after colliding with an obstacle, and outputting a detection signal, and control means for stopping the catering vehicle in accordance with the detection signal from the sensor 5 giving information that the bumper 11 is moved from the predetermined position.
