发明名称 MARINE NAVIGATIONAL AID
摘要 When navigating a water channel by boat, it is preferred, and at times crucial, that the boat pass the channel buoys/markers on the proper side. The buoys/markers not only control the flow of marine traffic but also protect boaters from water hazards. While travelling upstream, boaters should keep the green buoys on their port side and red buoys on their starboard side. Conversely, while travelling downstream, boaters should keep the green buoys on their starboard side and red buoys on their port side. This can be very confusing and in the case of an error it may result in very costly repairs and/or injuries. Boaters must continually be aware as to whether they are going upstream or downstream, and then recall which side of the red and green buoys they must keep to. With all the other decisions and observations that have to be made while navigating a water channel, these important rules can quite easily become confusing. With the "Marine Navigational Aid" the boater only has to determine once the direction to be travelled, i.e. upstream or downstream, and then set the "Marine Navigational Aid" to read in that direction. The correct side to pass by the buoys can be quickly determined by visually observing the placement of the red triangle and green square on the "Marine Navigational Aid".
