<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-side image reading device having a short path of conveyance and eliminating the need to cancel nipping at discharge rollers. SOLUTION: In the double-side image reading device, a document is fed to a reading portion 1 to read its first side and is then temporarily conveyed to a first reversing port 8b to reverse its conveyance direction to reverse the document; the document is then fed again to the reading portion 1 to read its second side and is then conveyed to a second reversing port 8c. First rollers (extra roller 26, first press roller 27) and second rollers (extra roller 26, second press roller 28) are arranged near the reversing ports 8b and 8c so that the end of a leading document does not cross the terminal end of a following document. The first and second rollers comprise three rollers 26, 27 and 28. Guide members 38 and 39 for changing the direction to convey documents are provided between the first and second rollers.</p> |
