PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently recovering an alcohol and boric acid each contained in high-boiling organic substances. SOLUTION: This method for recovering an alcohol and boric acid is characterized by involving the following process: in a distillation separatory method for a liquid comprising an alcohol, an alkyl borate and a high-boiling organic matter, the liquid is distilled in a continuous multi-tier distillation column having plates below a stock feed plate to obtain an overhead consisting mainly of the alcohol and the alkyl borate and bottoms consisting mainly of the high- boiling organic matter.
