PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold and a method for molding a porous resin molded object being lightweight, having rigidity and sound absorbing insulating properties, free from a sink, warpage or the like, having good appearance quality and capable of forming a blind cavity even in the vicinity of the side surface of the molded object. SOLUTION: In the mold for molding the porous molded object, a resin injection port 6 and a pressure medium injection nozzle 5 are provided to a cavity 4 prescribed by a side surface forming wall part 1b, a surface forming wall part 2a displaceable in a direction spaced apart from other and a back surface forming wall part 1a and a temperature difference generation means is provided to the side surface forming wall part 1b, the surface forming wall part 2a and/or the back surface forming wall part 1a. A heat insulating layer 13 can be arranged to the side surface forming wall part 1b and a temperature control means can be arranged in the vicinity of the side surface forming wall part 1b.
