PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding method capable of applying a pattern to a molded product having a deep drawing or complicated shape without applying special processing to an existing mold, and a preforming apparatus using the same. SOLUTION: The preforming mold 22 of a preforming machine 3 is almost the same to a moled 14 at least partially. A decorated film 4 is arranged between the mold 22 and a heating head 32 and plasticized by the heat of the heating head 32 to be preformed and the preformed film is cut to form a molded film. After this molded film is inserted in a mold 14 by a molded film feed apparatus 50, a resin is supplied to obtain a patterned molded article. Preforming is performed by vacuum forming or pressure forming.
