PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for a power source for the arc processing and a power source equipment incorporating the control method, which solves a difficulty, existing in the full-bridge type resonant reactor inverter INVF, in the control of a small current range against lighter load, while solving a problem of a lowered maximum power current vis-a-vis easy control in the range of small current, which is encountered in the half-bridge type resonant reactor inverter INVH. SOLUTION: The power source equipment for the arc processing includes a reactor resonant tank LCF comprising a resonant capacitor and a resonant reactor, a comparative operational circuits EA that operates comparatively a set signal and a detected signal of output currents and outputs a comparative operational signal. The power source equipment further includes a switching chip drive circuit PFM for variable frequency output, which controls inverter frequency depending upon the comparative operational signal. The power source equipment further includes an inverter full-/half- bridge switching over circuit that switches to the half-bridge type resonant reactor inverter INVH when the current is within a small range predetermined. The switching over circuit further switches to the full-bridge type resonant reactor inverter INVF when the current is within a large range predetermined.
