PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sunroof unit which is prevented a foreign matter from pinching inbetween. SOLUTION: The sunroof unit 10 has a CPU(Central Processing Unit) 31, which controls a first panel 13 and a second panel 20 so that the first panel 13 always slides ahead of the second panel 20 upon sliding of both panels to the full closing direction. Also, the CPU 31 controls a shade panel motor 14 and a roof panel motor 21 to halt their operation upon the pinching the foreign matter between the first panel 13 and a shade panel opening, and controls each first and second panel, 13 and 20, upon their sliding to the full closing direction so that the second panel 20 never pass the first panel 13 sliding ahead until the first panel 13 reaches the full close position.
