PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digging apparatus solving the problems difficult to dig crops on a crop-planted ridge with a conventional one. SOLUTION: This device has a construction which comprises setting left and right diggers 5a and 5b each having blade surfaces 5c digging the soil with holding the soil both right and left sides of a crop (carrot) (a) and vertically and reciprocatingly turning with declining front downward and leaving a predetermined space (L) between both the ends 5d and 5d of each of blade surfaces 5c and 5c, setting almost contacting with each other or setting the right space (L2) wider than the left space (L1), wherein the left and right spaces (L1) and (L2) are each a space from a center (b) of the crop (a) to the ends 5d or 5d.
