PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for culturing mushrooms growing in soil, capable of reducing contents of harmful heavy metals in mushrooms and effectively re-utilizing waste bed. SOLUTION: This method for culturing mushrooms which grow in soil comprises using waste pieces of wood for culturing raw wood of Lentinus edodes or waste bed for culturing mushroom bed as a raw material for incubators. The waste pieces or the waste bed is crushed and formed in sawdust-like state and then uniformly kneaded with rice bran, etc., and water is supplied to the kneaded material to adjust water content. The kneaded material is charged into a mushroom-culturing container made of polypropylene and sterilized under pressure to provide a culture medium. The culture medium is cooled and aseptically inoculated with a spawn for culturing Agaricus brazei Murill to carry out mycelium culture. At a point of time when the mycelium spread, the cultured products are taken out from the container and put in a container for mushroom beds and uniformly spread and soil (e.g. Akadama soil) having good water retainability is covered in a thickness of about 2-3 cm thereon. Then, culture is carried out for 10 to 15 days at 25 to 28 deg.C while spraying water thereto sometimes.
