PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polysiloxane capable of forming self-supporting film, having excellent proton-carrying ability which scarcely degrades even in a high temperature dry circumference, to provide a method of producing it and to provide a proton-carrying material. SOLUTION: This polysiloxane is obtained by the steps of hydrolyzing a mixture comprising a silane compound (A) expressed by formula (1), a silane compound (B) expressed by formula (2) and at least one acid component (C) selected from phosphoric acid and sulfuric acid, condensing, and if necessary, heating at 100 to 300 deg.C: R1aSi(OR2)4-a (1) (where R1 and R2 each represents 1 valence organic group; a is an integer of 1 to 2), R3bSi(OR2)4-b (2) (where R3 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group; R2 represents 1 valence organic group; b is an integer of 0 to 2). This proton-carrying material comprises the polysiloxane.
