PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink with which an ink-jet ink receiving layer can be easily formed only at necessary positions of a base material as whiteness is high and clearer color printing can be performed and water resistance of the printed ink is excellent and bleeding of the printed image does not occur and quality of printing is high and printing ink suitability is excellent. SOLUTION: The ink for forming the ink-jet ink receiving layer prepared by compounding a finely divided white pigment treated with hydrophobic treatment to a vehicle containing a glycol solvent with a boiling point of at least 100 deg.C as a main ingredient is used. Calcium carbonate treated with hydrophobic treatment is preferably used as the finely divided white pigment. In addition, a binder resin is preferably compounded.
