PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nitrogen oxide removing liquid capable of keeping nitrogen oxide removing capacity constant and capable of being simply prepared by smaller kinds of reagents, and a nitrogen oxide removing method capable of efficiently removing nitrogen oxide from nitrogen oxide-containing gas using the nitrogen oxide removing liquid. SOLUTION: The nitrogen oxide removing liquid contains a ferrous iron chelating compound, non-chelating ferrous iron independent of the ferrous iron chelating compound. Nitrogen oxide contained in the nitrogen oxide-containing gas is removed by bringing the nitrogen oxide-containing gas into contact with the nitrogen oxide removing liquid.
