PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for a polyamide, very excellent in processability, weathering resistance, moldability and toughness, and preferably usable for various molding materials, thick sheet, fiber and film paint. SOLUTION: This polyamide is obtained by reacting dicarboxylic acids and diamines. The dicarboxylic acid contains one mol% or above of cyclohexanedicarboxylic acids, wherein the content of metal components is 1,000 ppm or below, and also the amount of impure particles having the maximum length of 4μm or above is 30,000 pieces or below in 1g.
