PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aluminate phosphor with reduced deterioration of the light-emitting luminance which can be applied to a light-emitting device by vacuum ultraviolet excitation and its phosphor paste composition, and to provide a light-emitting device by vacuum ultraviolet excitation having a fluorescent film obtained by using them. SOLUTION: The aluminate phosphor comprises (1) at least one alkaline earth metal to be selected from the group consisting of Ba, Sr, and Ca, (2) Eu or Eu and Mn, (3) a divalent metallic element of Mg and/or Zn, (4) Al element, and (5) at least one metallic element to be selected from the group consisting of Na, K, Pb, Y, and Gd.
