PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stain-resistant coating composition from which a stain-resistant coating film can be obtained that hardly allows cracks to be generated, furnishes good coating film adhesion, hardly allows delamination to occur, well controls the rate of hydrolysis, and has stain resistance, especially excellent stain resistance under highly stained circumstances as well as excellent long-life stain-resistant characteristics, a high storing stability is secured, and with which a highly condensed coating composition is made possible, the amount of solvent used in the composition can be reduced, and excellent coating properties are realized. SOLUTION: This stain-resistant coating composition comprises (A) a silyl ester copolymer comprising a component unit derived from a polymerizable unsaturated carboxylic acid silyl ester and (B) a metal-excessive salt of an organic carboxylic acid. It is preferable that the excessive-metal salt contains a metal in an amount >=1.2 times the equivalent amount of the metal based on the organic carboxyl group. It is also preferable that the excessive-metal salt is a divalent metal salt of an organic carboxylic acid. It is further preferable that the metal of the excessive-metal salt is at least one selected from the group consisting of zinc, copper, magnesium, calcium and barium.
