PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste straw treatment device for a reaping harvester, having miniaturized and simplified covering structures with the waste straw shredding structure and simplifying the switching operation between the waste straw shredding treatment and long straw releasing treatment. SOLUTION: This waste straw treatment device has such a construction that a changeover element 4 is provided so as to be switchable between a waste straw releasing posture with which waste straw fed to the straw inlet 8 of a cylinder cutter F arranged below the conveyance terminal end of a threshing feed chain 2 is caught and releasingly guided backward of the machine body and a releasing posture with which a waste straw feed to the straw inlet 8 is allowed, an upper cover 3 covering the upper side of the straw inlet 8 in a state of including the conveyance terminal end of the threshing feed chain 2 is provided so as to be switchable to released posture moved upward and is furnished with a waste straw guide rod 5 functioning to move and guide waste straw fed from the conveyance terminal end of the threshing feed chain 2 into the rake-in action area of the cylinder cutter F in such a mode as to come to a non-guiding posture when the upper cover 3 is in a released posture.
