The invention relates to a drilling system for the metal-cutting production of precise bore holes. A contactless operating device for monitoring the diameter of the hole created is integrated into the drilling tool of said system, and the measurement data determined is wirelessly transmitted to a receiver. In this way, the bore diameter can be continuously and quantitatively controlled during the machining process, and wear or fracturing of the tool, for example, can be detected. In the event thereof, the corresponding chip removal operation can be momentarily stopped and the tool adjusted or, for example, the indexable insert changed. The inventive drilling system enables production quality to be guaranteed and the production of rejects to be avoided. In practice, the actual drilling tool can be used in various forms, for example as a boring bar, a boring head, a precision boring head or a reamer. |
