PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication method for selecting a processing server mechanism on the side of a client in server/client communications under server's leadership. SOLUTION: In the server for transmitting data, a repeater between the server and the client or a server acting also as a repeater, in addition to information designating an application, information showing the quality of data is added. The client which receives the information designating the application and the information showing the quality of the data selects the data processing mechanism based on the information.
