<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for managing biomedical equipment data in a medical institution. SOLUTION: Central databases (36 and 60) are held for data and records related to biomedical equipment in a medical institution (12). The institution can include a functional part in a certain range such as departments (33, 40, and 42), facility sites (30, 32, and 34), groups (26 and 28), and a modality, and a lower modality. Equipment data (114) is collected over the life of equipment components, and equipment data refers to identification and types of equipment, other equipment catalogs, service control parameters. The central databases (36 and 60) facilitate not only storage of all equipment records of the institution but also analysis and preparation of report of equipment inventories, operation results, planning, benchmarking, need for training, and other equipment-related data.</p> |
