PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device which can change its magnification easily and properly by using electronic zooming and to provide its control method. SOLUTION: This image pickup device has an operation means which picks up an image by an outside operation and has an optical zooming means 344 which can magnify and contract the picked up image and an electronic zooming means 20 which can magnify the image arbitrarily. The optical zooming function and the electronic magnifying function can be combined by a plurality of operation methods, so that a proper magnification of the picked up image can be selected. |
