PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method of mounting metal balls which can increase the chucking efficiency of the metal balls by a suction head. SOLUTION: When the suction head 1 chucks the metal balls 3a at the suction position (I), gas is blown against the metal balls 3 from a gas blowout nozzle 15, to cause only the metal balls near a slit-like slender blowout port 5 to float. Consequently, some of the metal balls 3 in a storage space 13 reach the lower face of the suction head 1, to be chucked by some suction holes 5. Then, by moving the blowout nozzle 15 in the horizontal direction, some of the other metal balls 3a are chucked by the lower face of the suction head 1, that is, other suction holes 5 of the suction face of the suction head 1. |
