PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a push button switch of lateral pushing operation capable of being assembled easily, installing the fitting face of an external terminal flush with the fitting face of the frame, and surely surface- mounting it on a circuit board. SOLUTION: Elastic members 3 and 7 are interposed between a housing 1 having the external terminal 2a projecting therefrom and the fitting frame 6 to be engaged with the housing, and planar fitting faces 2c and 6c for surface- mounting on the circuit board are formed on the lower ends of the external terminal 2a and the fitting frame 6. Inclined faces 1d and 6f engaged into a slide contact with each other by the energizing force of the elastic members 3 and 7 and guiding the fitting face of the external terminal 2a on the circuit board and the fitting face 6c of the fitting frame 6 on the circuit board in the direction being flush with each other are formed on the engagement part between the housing 1 and the fitting frame 6.
