PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording device, with which the durability of a projection is provided and an adsorption phenomenon is prevented, using a slider and a magnetic recording medium since there is a problem that the durability of the projection of the slider is damaged when trying to suppress the phenomenon of adsorbing the slider on the magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording device provided with the slider having a pad protruded on a floating plane and the magnetic recording medium, when the length of the pad along with the longitudinal direction of the slider is defined as Lpl, the length thereof along with the short direction of the slider is defined as Lps, the length in the circumferential direction of the projecting part on the magnetic recording medium is defined as Dbc, the length along with the direction of the radius is defined as Dbr, the interval of ruggedness in the circumferential direction of the projecting part is defined as Lbc and an interval in the direction of the radius is defined as Lbr, the magnetic recording device in the relations of Lpl>(Lbc2+Lbr2)1/2-Dbc and Lps>(Lbc2+ Lbr2)1/2-Dbr is used.
