PURPOSE: A lug of a cathode ray tube is provided to reduce space for a monitor as compact by reducing space of an ear part of the lug. CONSTITUTION: A lug(L') of a cathode ray tube(T) is coupled to a wide width band(N) of a cathode ray tube(T). The lug(L') is coupled to a cabinet to mount the cathode ray tube(T) in the cabinet(N). The length of an ear part of the lug(L') is within the corner of the rectangle formed by extended lines of long and short edges(l1,l2) of the cathode ray tube(T) so that the cathode ray tube(T) including the lug(L') is within the rectangle. The shape of the ear part of the lug(L') is formed to make a right angle so as to match the corner of the rectangle formed by the long and short edges of the cathode ray tube. The shape of the ear part of the lug(L') may be formed to have one round edge, and the other straight edge for matching the short or the long edge.
