PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium in which a prepit formed in a first region exerts no bad influence on a reproducing signal and required value of an aperture ratio of a prepit detecting signal in a second region can be easily satisfied. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium is provided with a groove track 11 composed of a first region where recording information is recorded and a second region where embossed pit row 19 is formed, a land track 12 and the prepit formed on the land track. Further the prepit 45 in the second region is formed with a shape different from that of the prepit 13 in the first region so that amplitude of the prepit detecting signal corresponding to the prepit 45 can be made larger.
